I have had mixed results (with students aged seven to nine)...
Those who consider everything on the net to be a game will amuse themselves using storymaker as a kind of doll's house. Are they story telling? Hmmmm. Maybe, sometimes, naah.
Others seem to get held up by a lack of typing skills. A few minutes of sitting them, handling the chore of typing while prompting them for a story around what they are seeing sometimes gets them rolling.
